Meet … Mr. Jay Rios A.B.S.

Mr. Jay Rios is a diversely skilled hybrid professional with over 30 years of experience in both Advertising Design and Information Technology.

Having originally lived in just about all five boroughs, Jay Rios, is a true native New Yorker who, by his demeanor, is also known for being a ‘city-kid’ with a country heart. With roots from the Lower East Side of Manhattan and having attended New York University and Pratt Institute, as well as the Antioch School of Urban Ministry Bible College in the Bronx, Jay brings a true inner-city perspective coupled with a wealth of experience in the fields of technology, marketing, branding and design. Having helmed his own advertising design agency since 1998, Jay has directed a variety of projects from concept through execution, providing marketing solutions for products and services, corporate branding, and fund-raising campaigns. His insight for the inner-city marketplace, ability to relate to individuals at all levels from multi-cultural backgrounds and awareness of the current flavor for the urban souk, together with a passionate desire to “keep his finger on the people’s pulse” is attested unto by a client portfolio whose diverse spectrum ranges from the local non-profit and faith-based organizations to the corporate sector.

Additionally, as an IT professional, Jay has managed projects from concept through execution serving clients on all levels within the corporate, non-profit, and government sectors. Jay incorporates technical expertise with a plain-language approach, resulting in clear and effective team management and comprehensively simple communication of even the most complex applications. Jay has been recognized for his ability to synthesize business/user needs, best practices, industry trends and application of technology with an understanding of the current and future business environments. Jay’s effectiveness in consulting, negotiating, and motivating all levels within an organization to achieve the desired objective have proven fruitful economically and technologically for his clients.

Jay’s true heart and nature however, shines best whenever he has the opportunity to help others rise. Having served as an IT instructor within a non-profit organization and adjunct professor at a local college, both within the Miami area, Jay has assisted many an individual from within needy communities attain the necessary skills for professional employment and furthering their education. Resultantly, Jay has been recognized for being a balanced team player with a friendly and professional disposition.

Jay served in the United States Army for two consecutive voluntary tours of duty, and was the recipient of two Good Conduct Medals and a Humanitarian Service Medal, eventually leaving as a Sergeant.

Jay enjoys painting (think Norman Rockwell), people, animals and of course, the occasional café con leche!
